- Description:
- This data file contains a compilation of environmental variables for 30 lakes spanning the years of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. These data was processed at the Dorset Environmental Science Centre http://desc.ca/ This data file is also related to the following files: waterChemestry.csv LakeSurveyTempO2_2012-2018 LAKE: Lake from where the sample was taken LAT_DMS: Average latitude of lake location in degrees, minutes and seconds (see BasicLakeInformation.csv) LON_DMS: Average longitude of lake location in degrees minutes and seconds (see BasicLakeInformation.csv) YEAR: Year when the sample was taken LDEPTH: Ldepth is lake depth SAMPLE_Depth: Is the depth at which the sample was taken AREA: Area of lake in hectares SECCHI: Secchi depth in meters- Chemistry sampling location CA: Calcium measured using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, mg/L CL: Chloride measured using automated ion chromatography, mg/L COND: Conductivity μS/cm at 25.0 ºC measured using potentiometry DOC: Dissolved organic carbon meaured using colourimetry, mg/L PH: Measured using potentiometry, unitless TKN: Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (Calculated) in µg/L. (Nitrate + Nitrite) concentration (colourimetry) is subtracted from Total Nitrogen concentration (measured by oxidative pyrolysis and chemiluminescence) TP: Total phosphorus, measured using colourimetry, ug/L TOTALK: total alkalinity defined as the capacity of a solution to neutralize acid and therefore is a composite measure of the behaviour of a group of substances towards acid, measured in mg/L as CaCO3 We ask you that you cite the DOI associated with this dataset when using this data for publications.
